Jennie: 'John Stape gets his comeuppance' (VIDEO)

Coronation Street's Jennie McAlpine is adamant that John Stape will get his comeuppance in the coming weeks.

In the ITV1 soap, Jennie's on-screen husband John, played by Graeme Hawley, has been living a double life after killing Colin and Joy Fishwick and Charlotte Hoyle.

Speaking on the red carpet at the British Soap Awards 2011, Jennie said that the storyline will take a 'sinister turn'.

She said: "John Stape is evil but loveable. People think it's a shame that he's done all these terrible things, but he'll have to get his comeuppance, because that's what we have to do in soap.

"And I'm telling you he will get his comeuppance.

She added: "I hope a little bit of happiness for Fiz is around the corner."
