Coronation St's Keith: 'Skin and hair will fly'

Coronation Street's Keith Duffy has joked that "skin and hair" will "fly" between his character and Michelle Connor.

Keith, charming Irish barman Ciaran McCarthy, has been playing out an on-screen flirtation with Kym Marsh's alter ego on the ITV1 soap.

Speaking at the Royal Television Society awards, Keith said: "It's all a bit unwritten at the moment, it's still a bit of flirtatious movement going on - I believe down the road there's supposed to be some skin and hair flying."

The Boyzone star admitted the working hours on Coronation Street are tough, but said he enjoys acting with Kym.

"Myself and Kym are always behind the bar together. We create our own fun behind the bar. We have a bit of craic and make each other laugh, and do the job when it needs to be done."

However, he doesn't think his character has it in him to be involved in a monogamous relationship.

"He's a fly by night type of character," he said. "He's always been single and has never made a relationship work. He enjoys his few pints and flirting with the ladies. It would be a boring storyline to make him monogamous."
