Corrie's Ryan: 'I want Jason to have a bit of fun'

Ryan Thomas is hoping that his Coronation Street alter-ego, Jason Grimshaw, gets to enjoy being a single man for a while.
The builder is set to be left heartbroken after girlfriend Rosie Webster (Helen Flanagan) breaks up with him so she can take part in a reality show in London, in scenes to screen this week.
The 27-year-old actor wants Coronation Street's writers to let Jason play the field before jumping into another relationship, telling TV's Lorraine: "I just want Jason to have a bit of fun. He's been tied to that relationship and he always seems to get into relationships too quickly."
He added: "I know the direction it's going. I'm not allowed to say too much about it, but I know that they're putting me with [different] people and I don't know what's going to happen there. But that should be exciting for him."
Ryan revealed he misses co-star Helen, who has left the street.
"In real life, she is the funniest person ever. Obviously a lot of people come and go over the years, but when you work so closely with someone... She's a massive character and she will be missed," he continued.
"They've kept the door wide open for Helen. People like to spread their wings, go out there and see what the real world is about, because we're in a big bubble in that show. We wish Helen all the best."
