George declares Peter unfit to be a dad!

Peter returns to George's to take Simon to school and he's furious to hear Eve has already taken him. He insists he'll collect him later but when he arrives to discover George has picked Simon up early Peter's had enough and demands George tells him what he's playing at. Calling at Peter's flat, without Simon, George tells him he's keeping hold of Simon until he thinks Peter is fit to look after him.

Tina's confused about Gail's visit to the police station but when David insists they're just covering all angles she's somewhat pacified. Meanwhile Nick's back, having received Gail's pleas for support. He's worried about his mum's story but when the police call to tell them Joe's body is being released for a funeral it looks like Gail may be in the clear. Relieved Gail turns to Tina as the two women plan Joe's funeral.

Carla's amused when Trevor finally realises she isn't Underworld's cleaner but the boss and agrees to a drink with him. She's less than amused however when Nick arrives, asking her to reconsider his offer to buy into the business.

Also, John helps Chesney with his homework and realises just how much he misses teaching.

*Second Episode, 8.30pm*

Peter races to the Wilsons'. He refuses to believe George's claims that Simon's out with Eve and breaks a window in a bid to find his son. When Leanne and Ken catch up with them George is ordering Peter to leave but, incandescent with rage, Peter calls the police. As they wait Eve arrives home with Simon but when George tries to stop Peter from getting to him a scuffle ensues. Simon's confused as he watches the police arrive and intervene. But Peter feels it's hos only chance to get his son back.

The Platts are uneasy when the police arrive back on the street asking questions about Joe and Gail's tempestuous relationship. Meanwhile, everyone on the street is becoming more suspicious then ever. As the police continue to build their case Gail starts to fear that this nightmare will never end

Kelly starts flirting with Nick and he spies an opportunity for himself. Turning on the charm he tells her he's considering buying a share of the factory and can see potential in her. Suitably charmed she agrees to a night out.

Also, John secretly applies for a job teaching evening classes.
