Audrey Roberts
Audrey Roberts (Sue Nicholls) was quite a character in her younger years, and daughter Gail was constantly worried about her. These days, Audrey is more likely to be the one doing the worrying!

1979 Turns up for daughter Gail's engagement to Brian Tilsley and embarrasses her by flirting with all the men.
1981 Starts working for Alf Roberts and sets up a hair salon in the back of his corner shop. He proposes but she turns him down.
1984 Gets engaged to nasty George Hepworth. He attempts to rape Gail.
1985 Accepts Alf's second proposal and they marry at Christmas. Opens Audrey's Hair Salon at No2 Coronation Street.
1988 Malcolm Reid - son Stephen's adoptive father - invites her to move to Canada with him. She stays with her 'Alfie'.
1990 Moves out of Coronation Street with Alf.
1993 Talks Alf into selling corner shop.
1994 Alf becomes Mayor but makes Betty Mayoress when Audrey exploits the position.
1996 Has a visit from Stephen, the son she gave up for adoption.
1998 Becomes councillor for Weatherfield's St Mary's Ward. Alf dies from a heart attack on the stroke of midnight on New Year's Eve.
1999 Butcher Fred Elliott proposes, as does Russian sailor Sergei, but she turns them both down.
2000 Fred proposes again, this time in Paris. Initially says yes but changes her mind.
2001 Best friend Alma Halliwell dies. Meets financier Richard Hillman at her funeral and is jealous when he asks out Gail.
2002 Serial killer Richard tries to drive her mad and kill her for her cash. Wises up to him but only Archie Shuttleworth the undertaker believes her. Nearly dies in a fire set by Richard.
2003 Richard admits his evil deeds and flees. Goes into debt to pay off a now-penniless Gail's mortgage. Archie proposes but she turns him down.
2005 Dates Keith Appleyard but dumps him for being a skinflint, although they're later reunited.
2006 Keith leaves Weatherfield. Regrets rejecting Fred after he gets engaged to Bev Unwin. Tells Fred how she feels on his wedding day. He dies of a heart attack in her home. Starts an affair with Kevin Webster's married dad Bill.
2007 Bill breaks up with his wife Maureen and moves in with Audrey. Takes in grandson David Platt.
2008 Has a car accident returning from a miserable booze cruise with Bill, Janice Battersby and Roger Stiles. Asks Bill to move out. Gail's father Ted Page turns up and she's surprised to discover he's gay.
2009 Burgled by Gary Windass.
