2000 Talks Vikram Desai into giving her a job at Street Cars. Rents No 11 Coronation Street from Steve McDonald and moves in with sons Todd and Jason.

2001 Falls in love with Dennis Stringer. Dennis leaves a devastated Eileen for factory worker Janice Battersby.

2003 Jason's runaway dad Tony turns up. She lets him stay but he steals money from Street Cars and lets her take the rap.

2004 Todd admits he's gay, and has been cheating on girlfriend Sarah Platt. Has a knockdown fight with Gail because of this, the start of a long-running feud. Todd moves to London. Takes in Sean Tully as a lodger

2005 Fancies reflexologist Phil Nail but loses out to Gail.

2006 Unexpectedly falls for pious ex-con Ed Jackson but discovers that he was put away for killing Emily Bishop's husband. He leaves for the sake of Emily's feelings. Baptised ahead of becoming Freddie Peacock's godmother. Given a baby on Christmas Day by a girl who says Jason's the father. Names the baby Holly.

2007 Holly's mum returns saying recently deceased Charlie Stubbs, Jason's boss, is Holly's father, but had used Jason's name, and she wants baby back. Falls for Pat, who turns out to be a serial womaniser. In a storyline away from Weatherfield, she goes on holiday to Malta with Steve McDonald.

2008 Dates kebab shop owner Jerry Morton but his complicated family life gets in the way of their romance. Dad Colin turns up. Meets children's entertainer Jesse Chadwick.

2009 Discovers that her father had taken advantage of her schoolfriend Paula Carp and that factory worker Julie Carp is her half-sister. Colin dies of a heart attack. Starts relationship with Jesse and he moves in - with his parrot, John!

2010 Gets let down by another bloke when she starts dating Owen Armstrong. He however has eyes for Liz and, when Eileen learns they're an item, starts plotting her revenge.
