Jack Duckworth
Had a famously rocky marriage to Vera but widower Jack Duckworth (William Tarmey) has mellowed over the years. Once a bit of a jack-the-lad, he's now more of a 'Jack the kipper', as he's enjoying retirement and taking life easy.

1979 Brassy wife Vera takes him to Gail and Brian Tilsley's wedding reception.
1982 Has a fling with barmaid Bet Lynch.
1983 Joins a dating agency as Vince St Clair and is matched with Carole Munroe - aka Vera! Buys No9 Coronation Street with Vera. Inherits the previous owner Chalkie Whitely's pigeons. Son Terry moves in.
1984 Becomes a window cleaner and beds a customer, Dulcie Froggatt - the same Dulcie door-to-door salesman Terry is bedding!
1986 Nearly burns down The Rovers with a bodged electrics job.
1988 Takes in Curly Watts as a lodger.
1990 Tries to recapture his youth by doing up an old motorbike, much to Vera's displeasure, who forces him to sell it on.
1992 The Duckworths take in Terry's pregnant girlfriend Lisa after Terry is banged up for GBH. Lisa has a boy, Tommy.
1993 He and Vera take on Tommy after Lisa dies. Disowns Terry when he 'sells' Tommy to Lisa's parents.
1995 Inherits £30,000 from brother Cliff and becomes landlord of The Rovers.
1996 Terry visits and gets Tricia Armstrong pregnant before leaving again. Jack offers her money for an abortion, which she refuses.
1997 Tricia gives birth to baby Brad. Jack gets a huge tax bill and sells a half-share of the pub to Alec Gilroy. Celebrates 40th wedding anniversary with Vera.
1998 Sells Alec the other half of The Rovers to avoid constant feuding on the condition they can live above pub. Alec sells to Natalie Barnes, who chucks them out.
1999 Eunice Gee attempts to seduce him and he has a heart attack. Buys a B&B from Eunice when he recovers.
2000 Buys No9 again. Tyrone Dobbs becomes the Duckworth's lodger - and the son they wish they'd had. Fears Vera will die when she donates a kidney to grandson Paul Clayton.
2001 Helps Terry when he's framed for attempted murder.
2002 Makes his peace with Terry. Has a big win on the horses. Conman and serial killer Richard Hillman takes a large chunk of his money to 'invest'.
2003 Arrested after unwittingly looking after Maz O'Loughlin's marijuana plants!
2007 Celebrates Golden Wedding Anniversary with Vera. Disappointed when grandson Paul returns and steals from him.
2008 Heartbroken by Vera's sudden death in January. Sells house to Tyrone Dobbs and Molly Compton but continues to live with them. Tries to convince Paul to face the consequences of an insurance scam he's involved in with Leanne Battersby but Paul runs.
2009 Sees Tyrone and Molly marry. Meets fellow pigeon fancier Connie Rathbone. Agrees to live with Connie but is not going to give up supping at The Rovers!
2010 Quietly passes away after celebrating his birthday in the Rovers.
