Jack Duckworth

Jack Duckworth

Had a famously rocky marriage to Vera but widower Jack Duckworth (William Tarmey) has mellowed over the years. Once a bit of a jack-the-lad, he's now more of a 'Jack the kipper', as he's enjoying retirement and taking life easy.

Marriages Vera Burton (deceased)

1982 Has a fling with barmaid Bet Lynch.

1983 Joins a dating agency as Vince St Clair and is matched with Carole Munroe - aka Vera! Buys No9 Coronation Street with Vera. Inherits the previous owner Chalkie Whitely's pigeons. Son Terry moves in.

1990 Tries to recapture his youth by doing up an old motorbike, much to Vera's displeasure, who forces him to sell it on.

1992 The Duckworths take in Terry's pregnant girlfriend Lisa after Terry is banged up for GBH. Lisa has a boy, Tommy.

1998 Sells Alec the other half of The Rovers to avoid constant feuding on the condition they can live above pub. Alec sells to Natalie Barnes, who chucks them out.

1999 Eunice Gee attempts to seduce him and he has a heart attack. Buys a B&B from Eunice when he recovers.

2007 Celebrates Golden Wedding Anniversary with Vera. Disappointed when grandson Paul returns and steals from him.

2008 Heartbroken by Vera's sudden death in January. Sells house to Tyrone Dobbs and Molly Compton but continues to live with them. Tries to convince Paul to face the consequences of an insurance scam he's involved in with Leanne Battersby but Paul runs.

2009 Sees Tyrone and Molly marry. Meets fellow pigeon fancier Connie Rathbone. Agrees to live with Connie but is not going to give up supping at The Rovers!

2010 Quietly passes away after celebrating his birthday in the Rovers.
