One word to sum up Sally Webster (Sally Whittaker) is 'aspirational'. But her plans for a 'better' life are usually thwarted.

1986 From a rough family, the then 18-year-old Sally Seddon falls for mechanic Kevin Webster. They marry in October and move in with Hilda Ogden.

1987 She and Kevin buy No13 from Hilda.

1990 Gives birth to first baby, Rosie, on Christmas Eve in the back of Don Brennan's cab on Rosamund Street.

1993 Attracts the unwanted attention of Joe Broughton while child-minding his son.

1994 Has second daughter, Sophie, in November. Struggles financially but rich widow Rita Sullivan gives her a job and a gift of £5000.

1997 Kevin cheats on Sally with his boss, Natalie Horrocks. Sally fights back and has her own affair with hunky mechanic Chris Collins. She and Kevin are reunited by Christmas Day.

1998 Inherits a sizeable chunk from a relative. Falls for Les Battersby's smooth-talking son Greg Kelly and goes into business with him.

1999 Realises Greg is only after her money and chucks him. He turns nasty and takes her and the girls hostage, then beats her up. Splits with Kevin and is romantically pursued by stallholder Danny Hargreaves.

2000 Dumps Danny but wins him back. Opens a hardware store. Has a secret night of passion with Kevin the night before his marriage to Alison Wakefield.

2001 Agrees to marry Danny, but he leaves her when he discovers her one-night-stand with Kevin. Starts relationship with Martin Platt.

2002 Reaches the end of the road with Martin and with her shop. Reunited with Kevin. Snogs sexy decorator Alex Jordan, but marries Kevin in December.

2004 Becomes a pushy mum and gets Rosie into Oakhill Grammar School.

2005 Has an affair with new boss Ian Davenport. Guiltily dumps Ian after Rosie uncovers their relationship. Ian tells Kevin about the affair but Kevin believes Sally's denials!

2006 Horrified when Rosie starts sleeping with her boyfriend, Craig, and tries to split them. Has a near breakdown. Recovers and celebrates the 20th anniversary of her first wedding to Kevin in Paris with the whole family.

2007 Disappointed when Rosie gets the PA job she wanted at Underworld. Decides to improve her mind. Hires John Stape as a tutor and fancies him, not knowing he's dating her daughter Rosie. Discovers their affair on Christmas Day.

2008 House swaps with the Peacocks and moves to No4, where she's thrilled to have a garden and a conservatory. A drunk Sally reveals to Maria Connor that her late husband, Liam, had an affair with Carla Connor.

2009 Not happy when Molly Dobbs, wife of Kevin's business partner Tyrone, starts taking an active interest in the garage business. Discovers she has breast cancer at Christmas.

2010 Kevin ends his affair with Molly and Sal is given the all-clear after successful operation and treatment for cancer. But learns that godchild Jack is really Kevin's son in Molly's dying confession.
