Sarah’s had an eventful time in her teens, including two pregnancies, two marriage proposals, and two brushes with death. But although her experiences should have made her worldly-wise, she falls in and out of love like any teenager and cries on mum Gail’
1987 Born on 28 January and undergoes a DNA test when mum Gail doesn’t know whether Sarah’s dad is her hubby Brian Tilsley or his Aussie cousin Ian Latimer.
1990 Adopted by Gail’s new husband Martin Platt and takes his surname.
2000 Despite being just 13, discovers she’s fallen pregnant to schoolboy Neil Fearns the first time she had sex. Decides to keep the baby and has a girl called Bethany in June.
2001 Is tricked into a paedophile’s house after meeting him over the internet, but is rescued in time.
2002 Nearly killed in a car crash after going joy-riding with tearaway boyfriend Ade.
2003 Has another brush with death when her murderous stepdad Richard drives her and the family into the canal. Later moves in with local lad Todd and falls pregnant with his baby, much to Gail’s disapproval. Accepts when he proposes.
2004 Todd confesses he’s been having an affair with a male nurse called Karl. A distraught Sarah goes into labour two months prematurely and baby ‘Billy’ dies shortly after birth.

Tina was born on 7 August 1983 and grew up with her parents in Manchester. Her first acting experience was at the Manchester Drama Workshop and before Coronation Street she won roles in BBC’s Children’s Ward and Clocking Off.
