Tyrone Dobbs
The best thing to happen to Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) was being abandoned by his crooked, cruel mum Jackie. He's a kind and generous bloke - but not always smart enough to see when life's about to clobber him.
Marriages Molly Compton
Brought to Weatherfield as a teen by ex-con mum, Jackie, after being in and out of children's homes. They stay with Jackie's former cellmate Deirdre Barlow.
Jackie abandons him. Curly Watts gives him a job collecting trolleys at Frescho but loses it when he crashes them into the area manager's car. Gets an apprenticeship at Kevin Webster's garage and moves in with the Duckworths.
Admits to teacher Ken Barlow he's illiterate and he offers to teach him to read. Acquires a greyhound, Monica, who is the love of his life - until he starts dating kennel maid Maria.
Plans to marry Maria but leaves her for a fling with Fiz Brown after Maria tries to put him on a diet.
Pines for Maria and declares his love for her to stop her going to Canada to be with Nick Tilsley, but to no avail.
Katy Harris asks him to pose as her boyfriend as a cover for her affair with older man Martin Platt. Shares a kiss with former love Fiz but they don't take it further.
Sleeps with Fiz after she splits from her jealous boyfriend, Kirk Sutherland. Both men vie to win Fiz's hand but Tyrone concedes defeat to Kirk. Over-the-moon when Maria agrees to go out with him again.
Maria cheats on him with a footballer but he proposes anyway.
Lets Maria go after realising she'll never love him as much as he loves her. His broken heart is mended by Molly Compton.
Feels pushed out when the Duckworths have their grandson Paul Clayton to stay. Paul frames Tyron when he steals from Jack and Vera but later admits it.
Devastated when Vera Duckworth dies. Buys No9 from Jack. Molly's Auntie Pam arrives. Jack gives him Vera's ring for Molly. Proposes to Molly with a talking egg! Visits mum who cons him out of his wedding money. Molly's Auntie Pam convinces him to sell dodgy gear to make money for his wedding. Becomes a partner in Kevin Webster's garage.
Wedding day is nearly ruined by one of Auntie Pam's dodgy deals. Honeymoon is definitely ruined when mum steals their tickets to Paris and they end up in Blackpool.
