David had a difficult childhood and as well as dealing with his parents' divorce, he was nearly murdered. Unfortunately, his troubles haven't brought out the best side in his character and he's turned into a manipulative, sour-faced teen.
1990 Mum Gail nearly had him aborted but went through with the pregnancy and he was born on Christmas Day.

2002 Starts at Weatherfield Comp. Has a brush with death when a fire starts in the shop below his dad's flat.
2003 Horrified when Martin starts seeing schoolgirl Katy and tries to split them up. Nearly dies when Gail's murdering hubby Richard kidnaps him and the family and drives them into the canal.
2005 Devastated when Martin moves to Liverpool with his new girlfriend. Attempts to sabotage Gail's new relationship with reflexologist Phil. Plays truant from school.
2006 Grows cannabis plants in the unoccupied flat above the bookies. Sends the family cards from 'Richard' and makes out Phil is the hoaxer. Phil leaves. Truants from school and lies he's being bullied. Assaulted by Charlie Stubbs after threatening to out his affair with Maria.
Born in 1988 and brought up in Leeds, Jack's mum Janet is an estate agent and his dad, Peter, is a council worker. He has an older brother, Tom, and an older sister, Amy. Jack was just 11 when he was picked to join Coronation Street and he took the role from Thomas Ormson in 2000, who had played David since he was a baby.
Jack has also appeared in Clocking Off, where he played the brother of a character played by his current screen sister, Tina O'Brien. Jack still lives in Leeds and he is currently dating Bradford hairdresser Lauren Shippey, who he has been seeing since he was 14.
