1977 Born Tracy Lynette Langton to Deirdre and Ray Langton.

1978 Ray splits from Deirdre and promises to keep in touch.

1979 The Rovers collapses after a lorry crash and Tracy feared killed but disturbed Sally Norton ‘borrows’ Tracy in her pram just before and unwittingly saves her.

1993 Rows with mum Deirdre after discovering she once cheated on stepdad Ken with Mike Baldwin. Leaves home and moves in with boyfriend Craig Lee.

1994 Splits up with Craig and returns home. Disapproves of Deirdre’s marriage to toy-boy lover Samir.

1995 Takes an ecstasy pill and damages her kidneys. Stepdad Samir is fatally wounded and she receives his kidney.

1997 Moves to London. Returns to Weatherfield to marry fiancé Robert.

2002 Visits Ken and Deirdre at Christmas and reveals her split from Robert. Sleeps with her mum’s former fling Dev.

2003 Sleeps with gran Blanche’s boyfriend, Wally. Spikes Roy Cropper’s drink and gets him into bed for a bet. Falls pregnant and claims it’s Roy’s. Plots to sell the baby to Roy and Hayley. Marries Roy but later annuls the marriage. Tells Steve McDonald that he’s the baby’s real dad.

2004 Has a baby girl and hands her to the Croppers. Ruins Steve’s wedding to Karen by announcing that he fathered the child. Demands the baby back from Roy and calls her Amy.

2005 The long-lost Ray visits and reveals he’s dying. Steve offers support after Ray’s funeral and they date. Dumped by Steve and tries to stop him seeing Amy. Hooks up with bad boy builder Charlie Stubbs.

2006 Thinks she’s pulling the strings with Charlie, but furious when he cheats on her with former love Shelley and hairdresser Maria. Starts a campaign to convince the neighbours he’s beating her up

Actor Profile

Kate Ford

Kate grew up in Salford, Greater Manchester, with teacher mum Gillian and businessman dad Les and they moved to the Lake District when Kate was 13. An only child, Kate’s big passion as a young girl was horses, but when she was 16, she enrolled in a Performing Arts course in Blackpool and later studied at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Arts in London.

Kate took on a variety of jobs after completing her degree, including working as a pizza waitress and cleaning. After two years of struggle and several small TV roles, Kate won the part of Tracy. Kate is the fourth actress to play Tracy, after taking over the role from Dawn Acton who played Tracy between 1988 and 1999.
