Michelle Corrigan

Fun, flirty, bombastic and occasionally ruthless, senior practice nurse Michelle lacks tact, but is enthusiastic and very confident.

Michelle is also stubborn, and always thinks she's right, but Michelle is a natural nurse, and great with patients. Her CV is great, having worked in both NHS and private hospitals.

She may be seen as something of a gossip and mischief maker, but it's always in pursuit of fun and she's usually the one to get the party started!

June 2006 Michelle accepts a permanent position at the Mill Health Centre after doing some agency work in inner city Birmingham and working at the surgery occasionally before.

2006 Michelle gets a taste of her own medicine after gossip and rumours start after she's spotted having dinner with Ferdy, a respected married surgeon from St.Phils hospital. Refusing to confirm or deny them, they increase further when Michelle starts dating the young and handsome Dr Chris Taylor. But when Chris demands she choose between him and Ferdy, Michelle regrettably ends their relationship. Ferdy, realising he's holding Michelle back decides they should distance themselves from one another.

January 2007 Michelle meets and tries to convince Katya - a young Ukrainian forced into prostitution - to go to the Police. When it finally seems she will, Katya vanishes and is later found murdered. Michelle blames herself and the Police for failing to act. She then finds herself threatened by the brothel manager, Ian Carter, but he is soon arrested and later murdered in custody.

May 2007 Michelle's father has a heart attack and unable to save him, she is filled with guilt. At the funeral she meets Adam, the son of an old family friend, who helps and comforts her. They soon start a relationship, but when her mother finds out she tries to separate them - without success. Eventually she has to tell them the truth; they are half brother and sister. Adam wants to carry on the relationship, but Michelle finishes it, more grown up but heart broken.

May 2008 Michelle helps Ruth leave her abusive boyfriend Davey, and they become friends, but Ruth is more reliant on Michelle than she is on Ruth, and a fun shopping trip turns out to be a little uneasy as Ruth starts to copy Michelle's clothes and make-up...

March 2009 Michelle discovers Ruth in bed with her half brother Adam, and is distraught. Ruth has had a breakdown, and Michelle discovers that Ruth has been pretending to be her - the result of Ruth's emerging Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD).

May 2009 Michelle threatens to leave if Ruth comes back to work, and isn't happy when Melody declares Ruth fit. But Julia comes up with a solution, Ruth can work at the Mill and Michelle at the campus, their paths need never cross...
