Dr Al to leave EastEnders

Adam Croasdell has been shooting his final scenes as EastEnders' Dr Al Jenkins.

The dreamy medical man will be seen leaving Albert Square in the New Year, having first hit our screens in May.

Since arriving in Walford with a surfboard and yellow Beetle, the doctor has crossed paths with a number of women.

He had a brief dalliance with Tanya Branning (Jo Joyner), and has romanced both Roxy Mitchell (Rita Simons) and Chelsea Fox (Tiana Benjamin).

During his time in the Square, Dr Al has also played confidant to Heather Trott (Cheryl Fergison), when she told him she was pregnant, and told troubled Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) she was being sectioned.

According to EastEnders' official website, his exit plot promises to be an exciting storyline for the New Year.

He will make plans to go back to his father's practice in Cornwall, but whether he'll convince anyone to go with him remains to be seen.

Adam said: "I have worked with and befriended a lot of fantastic actors while I have been at EastEnders.

"I am very grateful for my time on the show and all the support shown to me by the wonderful viewers who followed my storylines.

"I see working on EastEnders as a chapter in my on-going work as an actor, as I am always interested in new challenges. I am looking forward to future projects."
