Emer: 'Other Enders don't get the lingo' (VIDEO)

EastEnders' newcomer Emer Kenny says that some cast members struggle to understand certain characters' street slang.

Emer plays Zsa Zsa Carter, one of three young characters to debut in the BBC1 soap this week.

Zsa Zsa, Fat Boy (Ricky Norwood) and Leon Small (Sam Attwater) along with Mercy Olubunmi (Bunmi Mojekwu) also star in EastEnders' online spin-off soap E20, which starts on Friday.

Emer's confident the new characters will appeal to the soap's younger fans - but she's not sure established cast members understand what they're saying.

Talking to whatsontv.co.uk, Emer said: "A lot of kids will be able to relate to the urban language. But I think a lot of the EastEnders' cast are like 'You're shook up? What?'"
