Marc: 'I had to put birthday on hold for 'Enders'

Soap star Marc Elliott has revealed that he had to put his 30th birthday celebrations on hold because of shooting for EastEnders.

The actor - who plays Syed Masood - said the move annoyed his twin sister Sophie, who was planning to celebrate with him.

Marc told Inside Soap magazine: "My twin sister wasn't very happy, as we were having a big party together - we had to delay it because I was filming."

The soap's busy schedule also affected birthday celebrations for Marc's screen brother Himesh Patel - who plays Tamwar and has recently turned 19.

Marc said: "We got him a big cake, but we haven't bought him a gift yet, because we've had such big storylines for the Masoods."

He also revealed that, while his mum and sister Sophie are big EastEnders fans, his eldest sister Melissa tends to watch the other channel.

The actor said: "She thinks life's miserable enough without having to see all the drama on television!"
