EastEnders says goodbye to one if its true icons when Pat Evans passes away after a battle with cancer on New Year's Day.
Pat has become renowned for her dangly earrings and OTT make-up, her dalliances with Frank Butcher and her battles with matriarchs like Peggy Mitchell, but on Sunday she dies, despite desperately trying to overcome the disease.
But Pat's exit marks the return of another favourite, her son David Wicks (Michael French), who returns for Pat's funeral and decides to stay in Albert Square longer, much to the displeasure of Ian Beale and the Brannings...
