Masood’s good nature is often put to the test by his troublesome family, especially hot-tempered wife Zainab and sexually confused son Syed. The mailman has been known to lose control under extreme provocation.

2007 Moves to Albert Square and is Walford's new postman.
2008 Goes to Karachi to visit his sick father, returning to Albert Square he discovers his family to be in debt and they are forced to close their post office. He borrows money from Ian Beale to open Masala Masood. Masood later goes into business with Ian, Jane and Christian. His daughter Shabnam leaves the Square to live in Pakistan.
2009 Finds out that his wife Zainab is in contact with their son Syed and turns up at his flat unannounced. Syed then moves in with the family. Zainab becomes pregnant and leaves home for a while due to arguments over her wanting an abortion, but later returns deciding to keep the baby. Masood returns home after receiving the 'Best New Small Business' award and finds 'Bad Boy' spray painted across his front door. This causes Zainab to believe that he is having an affair with Jane.
April 2009 Discovered Zainab was in contact with estranged son Syed.
Nov 2009 Kissed Jane Beale.
Jan 2010 Witnessed son Syed marry Amira, despite his son’s gay leanings.
Feb 2010 Delivered his and Zainab’s baby with the crucial help of Christian.
April 2010 Walked in on Syed and Christian getting amorous. Expressed his shame when Amira revealed Syed was gay.
May 2010 Threw Zainab out when he learned that she knew of Syed’s gay affair. After Syed attempted suicide he told Zainab that he was bringing their son home from hospital, against her wishes.
