Ricky Butcher (Sid Owen) was known in his youth as 'thicky Ricky'. He has matured into a man who makes up for his lack of brainpower with sensitivity and commonsense.

1988 Moves into the Queen Vic with dad Frank Butcher, his girlfriend Pat Wicks his sister, Diane and, later that year, gran Mo. Fails all his exams.
1991 Elopes with Sam Mitchell.
1993 Marriage ends after Sam has an affair.
1994 Begins relationship with Bianca Jackson.
1995 Has affair with Bianca's friend, Natalie Price.
1997 After on-off relationship, marries Bianca. Devastated when their daughter - who they name Natasha - has spina bifida and they terminate the pregnancy.
1998 Son Liam is born.
1999 Couple split up after Bianca has affair.
2000 Departs in a two-handed episode with Phil Mitchell, fleeing a dodgy motor deal.
2002 In an EastEnders spin-off, briefly reunites with Bianca when he visits her in Manchester and they get mixed up with drug dealers. Ricky takes Liam. Returns to Walford. Is disgusted by sister Janine's prostitution.
2003 Has another affair with Natalie, wrecking her marriage to Barry Evans. Has a one-night-stand with ex-wife Sam.
2004 Stunned by Janine's admission that she killed Barry Evans. Asks Natalie to leave Walford with him and Liam. She refuses and he leaves without her.
2008 Returns in March with rich girlfriend Melinda for father Frank's funeral. Dumped when he doesn't inherit a fortune and loses his job as he worked for girlfriend's dad. Moves in with Pat. Reunited with son Liam.
2009 Bianca tells him he's daughter Tiffany's dad. Goes on a mission for Phil and returns with Sam Mitchell.
2010 Marries Bianca for a second time, despite Carol's best efforts to put him off her.
