Jo was born in Essex in June 1977 but grew up in Oxfordshire. She studied drama at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff. She is best known for her role as Beth in Channel 4's No Angels, but she has also appeared in sketch show Swingers and TV dramas Clocking Off and Far Friends, amongst many others.
Jo is married to fellow actor Neil Madden and they live in a flat in London but they also have a house near Jo's parents and her brother Dan in Oxfordshire.
