Comfort food helps drained Roxanne cope

Roxanne Pallett has revealed she feels so drained by her Emmerdale storylines that she often treats herself to comfort food.

Roxanne, whose character Jo is under siege from abusive husband Andy (Kelvin Fletcher), told Closer magazine: "I'm working 12 hours a day doing emotionally draining scenes. So to deal with it I've been treating myself to crisps or chocolate on set and puddings when I get home."

The actress also admitted her split from former boyfriend Richard Fleeshman was also partly to blame for piling on a few pounds. But she has no hang-ups about her size.

She said: "Instead of going home to my boyfriend I now go home to a tub of ice cream. I'm not too bothered, though. A size 10 is hardly huge.

"But I'd like to lose the weight in the New Year, so I can fit back into my clothes!"
