Emmerdale actor James Thornton hit by a car

James Thornton is recovering at home after being in collision with a car in London, soap bosses have confirmed.
The Emmerdale actor, who plays farmer John Barton in the rural soap, fractured his knee in the incident, thought to have taken place on Wednesday.
An Emmerdale spokeswoman said: "We can confirm that James was hit by a car last week. He has a fractured knee and is recovering at home."
Some scenes involving James's character have had to be rewritten, but it is hoped he will return to filming next week.
The incident reportedly took place in front of his wife, Gavin And Stacey star Joanna Page.
