Emmerdale co-stars move on-screen love off screen?

Emmerdale co-stars Sammy Winward and James Sutton have been spotted sharing a kiss, sparking reports of a romance off screen.

The pair, who play Katie Sugden and Ryan Lamb in the ITV1 soap, were seen smooching at the Leeds Festival over the weekend.

It could be a case of life imitating art, as they play love interests in the show.

An Emmerdale source told The Sun: "It is no surprise to those who have seen Sammy and James together that the on-screen magic has moved off screen."

In the past, James has told how he is keen to have a screen romance with a girl in the soap, having kissed a lot of boys as gay Hollyoaks character John McQueen.

According to reports, Sammy recently split from her boyfriend of two years, Jonas Armstrong, while James has split from his long-term girlfriend.

An Emmerdale spokeswoman said there would be no comment from James or Sammy, but said that neither actor was in an existing relationship.
