Emmerdale's Kelvin: 'Andy feels immensely guilty'
13/01/2012 - 14:53

Emmerdale star Kelvin Fletcher has said his character feels 'immensely guilty' after sleeping with his ex, Debbie.
However, while Debbie regards the act as essential - in order to keep their daughter, Sarah, alive - Andy begins to develop feelings for her again.
In the hope of conceiving a baby, Andy and Debbie go behind their partners' backs in an attempt to save their daughter's life. Sarah, who suffers from a life threatening blood disorder is in desperate need of a bone marrow donor.
Kelvin told the Emmerdale website that Andy feels guilty about forming feelings for Debbie while in a relationship with Alicia.
"Keeping this secret, the secret being that he's just slept with Debbie in a hotel room and he's starting to get feelings for Debbie, he feels immensely guilty about that," said Kelvin.
"He is well aware of what he is doing to Alicia and how much it's upset her. That's why he said, 'I can't keep doing this to you', and I think he is genuine. This poor girl loves him and what he's having to put her through - he knows himself it must be heartbreaking."
The 27-year-old actor isn't sure where the latest development leaves Andy and Debbie. "Who knows?" he said.
He added: "Despite what Andy has been through and how he comes across a lot of the time, I don't think you can dispute that he's got a big heart."
