Emmerdale's Pollard: 'Val's on borrowed time!'

Emmerdale star Chris Chittell has revealed that Eric and Val Pollard's relationship is 'on borrowed time' after she wrecks his chances of escaping financial ruin.

The ruthless businessman is devastated when he realises he must close down his factory, and his back-up plan is ruined when Val makes the Dingles steal the factory equipment.

"Well, she's on borrowed time really," revealed Chris. "We mustn't forget that Pollard doesn't have blood in his veins, it's liquid money as far as he's concerned. He has no heart really, at the end of the day, if push comes to shove, it's all about survival."

Pollard thinks he has got his problems covered when he realises he can net £10,000 by selling off all the factory equipment, but he's furious when Val unwittingly ruins his last chance by having the Dingles steal it.

"Well, yes, he's a wily old goat," said Chris. "He's going to have to think of something. I think he's going to go back to a hole in the wall where he's stashed loads of dosh.

"I don't think he wants to divulge where it is to Valerie, because she may be good in the sack, but you don't know if you can totally trust her."
