Eli Dingle
Sometimes nasty, sometimes nice, but Eli Dingle (Joseph Gilgun) is always a rogue.
2006 Brother Marlon is unenthusiastic when trouble-making Eli turns up in July. Gets morphine for Sam Dingle to give to terminally ill wife Alice. Is being chased by a violent gang, who beat up Marlon when they can't find him. Frames the gang for a robbery at Viv Hope's post office to get them off his back.
2007 Accidentally shoots Marlon and nearly kills him. Jealous of Marlon's life with Donna and nearly destroys it. Ruins Kelly Windsor's relationship with Jimmy King. Sleeps with second cousin Debbie Dingle.
2008 He literally runs into his ex, Danielle Hutch, while driving one of Debbie's taxis. She's mixed up with the McFarlane crime family and helps rescue Aaron Livesy, Chas Dingle's son. Helps Debbie and Jasmine Thomas dispose of body of bent copper Shane Doyle, who had tried to rape Jasmine.
2009 Arrested for the murder of Shane. Cracks and gives up Debbie and Jasmine. Zak, head of the Dingle clan, is furious that Eli has turned in Debbie and turns his back on him. He tries - but fails - to make matters right and leaves in shame. Found living on the streets by Laurel Thomas and is welcomed home.
2010 Robbed the cash box from the B&B and although he returned it, he tearfully left the village saying the Dingles were better off without him. when last heard of he was in Scotland.
