2000 Turns up unexpectedly for daughter Bernice's wedding to Rev Ashley Thomas. Had abandoned Diane Blackstock and Bernice more than 30 years earlier.
2001 Happy to see daughter Nicola De Souza arrive but not thrilled to see her mother, his second wife Maureen (who doesn't stay long).
2002 Has one-night-stand with Diane.
2003 Has a brief, turbulent relationship with Steph Stokes.
2004 Starts dating Val Lambert, ex-wife Diane's sister. Still loves Diane, though and tells her when she's diagnosed with cancer. Diane rejects him. Struggles to accept gay son Paul.
2005 Despite being old enough to be her father, he has a relationship with Kelly Windsor but the taxman cometh and Rodney owes a fortune - he loses his house, business and Kelly.
2008 Reconciled with Paul, he helps with his Civil Partnership to Jonny Foster. Goes to work at Home Farm. Falls out with Nicola when she secretly publishes the stories he wrote for granddaughter Gabby.
2009 Wishes Paul well as he departs for Australia with Jonny. Gets job at Home Farm.
