Bob Hope

The likeable one-time traveling salesman is a bit of a frustrated comedian and loves to entertain. Despite his many ups and downs with present wife Viv, they love each other to bits and are real soulmates.

2000 The Naughty Nylons traveling salesman turns up in Viv’s shop with a suitcase of ladies’ tights samples. Viv invites him up to her boudoir for a closer inspection and he’s soon moving in!

2001 Viv suspicious of Bob’s continuing long absences for ‘work’ and kicks him out. Bob persuades her to take him back by proposing and they marry in February. Bob owns up to paying visits to his two kids, Carly and Josh, by former wife Barbara.

2002 Bob gets a job at the pub to raise cash to help Viv open a café but Viv thinks he’s cheating on her with landlady Diane. Viv applies for a divorce but they make up.

2003 Daughter Dawn arrives – as Terry’s fiancée! A horrified Bob tries to split them up. He ruins their wedding by having a huge bust-up with Viv after discovering her one-night-stand with a limo driver.

2004 Bob and Viv take sides in battle between Bob’s daughter Dawn and Viv’s son Scott and they split up.

2005 Bob and Viv’s divorce comes through and Bob dates Viv look-a-like Avril. Realises Viv is his one true love and unceremoniously dumps Avril and proposes to Viv!

2006 Bob’s exes Jean, Barbara and Vonda turn up with his kids Jamie, Josh, Carly and Roxy for the wedding. Dawn dies in an accident at the King’s new show home and a grieving Bob vows revenge. Viv falls pregnant with twins.

Tony Audenshaw

Tony was born in 1965 in Lancashire and before landing the role of Bob in Emmerdale he had a variety of jobs, including selling model cars, working for a jukebox company, cleaning offices and working as a ranger at Thorpe Park. Tony’s first big acting break was as PC Coban in Brookside.

Tony, who lives in Derbyshire with his wife Ruth Lee, a psychiatric nurse, and two children, is a keen runner and has completed the London Marathon. He also sings in a band, The White Van Man.
