1993 Moves up from London with parents Vic and Viv, step-sister Kelly and brother Scott.

1994 Caught up in the terrifying plane crash in the village and narrowly rescued from being burnt alive in Kim Tate's stables.

1998 Bullies Andy Sugden with her best mate Chelsea. Dad Vic is murdered in a post office robbery perpetrated by Andy's dad Billy.

1999 Suspended from school for bullying both Andy and his foster-brother Robert.

2000 Makes her peace with Andy and helps bring him back to the village when he runs away. Dates first proper boyfriend, Marc Reynolds.

2001 Marc dumps her. Involved in a hit-and-run accident in a stolen car with Marc and some of the village teens.

2002 Tries out for the army but fails to get in because of her involvement with the hit-and-run. Spotted by a model scout when she is crowned Jubilee Queen at the village fete.

2003 Rushed to hospital after drinking herself unconscious when she's rejected by local lad Stephen Butler. Later dates Robert Sugden, who uses her as an easy lay then dumps her.

2004 Reunites with Robert but he betrays her yet again. Falls in love with older man Marlon Dingle.

2005 Marlon proposes and they organise a double wedding with Viv and her fiancé Bob. Has second thoughts when she develops feelings for Max King, who later dies in a car crash.

2006 Wedding nearly aborted when Donna admits her former crush on Max but Marlon forgives her. A broody Viv asks Donna to be a surrogate but Viv gets pregnant naturally. Looks after Marlon's cousin Lilith's four sons when Lilith's imprisoned.

Actor Profile

Verity Rushworth

Born in August 1985, Verity grew up in Leeds with parents Michael and Fiona. Verity has been performing since she was three and had a small role in TV drama Heartbeat before being signed up for Emmerdale in 1998, taking over the role from actress Sophie Jeffrey. Despite a hectic filming schedule, Verity did a three-year Theatre Arts course at SLP Performing Arts College in Leeds, and graduated in 2006. As well as appearing on ITV's celebrity talent show Soapstar Superstar in 2007, Verity also had a one-off performance in the West End in Fame, alongside GMTV's Ben Shepherd, and has admitted that she'd like to perform on stage in the future.
