Hollyoaks bad boy Keiron says he's good at heart

Hollyoaks star Kieron Richardson says he's the complete opposite, but he loves playing bad boy Ste Hay.

The 22-year-old actor insists he enjoys the chance to embrace his nasty side on the Channel 4 show. "It's just nice to say some challenging things to people on set, to other actors that I would never say to my friends in real life. I get to say some really nasty things, which isn't good, but I would never say that and it makes me feel good to get it out there and say it to somebody."

Keiron is fronting a campaign by Teen Talk and local councils to encourage young people to get involved in more activities and youth groups in their local area.

The Hollyoaks star said: "When I got into high school I was getting to that stage when I was getting a bit bored and we had a youth centre on our estate where I grew up and they had activities like singing and dancing and acting classes.

"When I went that was the first time I'd been introduced to acting and it just bit me like a bug. Now I think back and if I didn't ever go there I would never have been introduced to the things I'm doing now, which has changed my life.

"I came from a rough estate, but I changed my life around probably from going to this youth centre."
