Hollyoaks band to release single (VIDEO)

Four characters from the Channel 4 series Hollyoaks are aiming to score a UK top 40 hit when they release a single this month.

The Dirty Diegos comprises of Michaela McQueen on lead vocals, Josh Ashworth on lead guitar, Sasha Valentine on keyboards and Amy Barnes on drums.

The band will perform their single, called 'Play', for a Battle of the Bands competition in an episode of late night Hollyoaks, due to air next month.

The group will then compete with guest stars, The Saturdays, in a chart battle when the song is released on 24 November.

Hollyoaks producer, Lucy Allan, told BBC News: "We are very excited to have The Saturdays on board and can't wait to hear their performance.

"I am sure that they will teach The Dirty Diegos a thing or two."
