Hollyoaks' Kieron: 'I like Ste's transformation'

Hollyoaks' Kieron Richardson says he's enjoyed his character's transformation from village bad boy to responsible father in the past few months.

The 23-year-old actor, who plays Ste Hay in the Chester-based soap, said: "I like it, it's just nice to get the audience's reaction when I was a bad boy and everyone hated me and then now, I'm being pitied and everyone's feeling sorry for me, so it's nice to experience both sides as an actor."

Aside from the odd comment in the street, Kieron says the public's reaction to Ste has always been positive.

He added: "I got the odd bit of abuse shouted at me with the domestic violence storyline, but people are quite nice and tend to say 'oh my god, there's someone from Hollyoaks!'"
