Home and Away's Todd Lasance admits drug charge

Home And Away star Todd Lasance has been given a 12-month good behaviour bond after pleading guilty to cocaine possession.

The actor, best known for his role as Aden Jefferies in the Aussie soap, was caught with 0.36g of the drug at the soap's Christmas party in a nightclub last year, after he had filmed his last episode of the show.

He admitted the offence at Sydney's Downing Centre Local Court, and will avoid a criminal record if he does not reoffend.

Todd's plans to pursue a career in Hollywood could have been stalled by a conviction, which would have threatened his chances of getting a working visa.

His lawyer, Chris Ford, said the actor had a "bright future on the international stage" and insisted the star deserved another chance.

However, the actor did not escape a stern talking-to from the magistrate.

"It's all about you, all about what Todd Lasance wants," Graeme Henson said.

"You are in the entertainment industry. I don't feel entertained by your conduct here."

He added that he was "tempted to make an example" of Todd.

Outside court Mr Ford read a statement on Todd's behalf, expressing his "deep regret" and saying he would now "move on with his life".
