Home & Away's Todd to go to court on drugs charges
18/01/2010 - 10:18

Todd Lasance, who played widower Aden Jefferies in Australian soap opera Home and Away, will enter a plea on a cocaine possession charge during his first appearance in a Sydney court next month.
Lasance was not required to appear when the charge was brought before a Sydney magistrates court for the first time.
His lawyer, Chris Ford, told reporters Todd would appear in court and enter a plea on February 1, but declined to say how his client would plead.
It is not clear how much cocaine Lasance, 24, was allegedly carrying when police arrested him in a Sydney nightclub on December 12 after he had attended a dinner with stars and staff from the Seven Network, which airs the drama in Australia.
Mr Ford described the charge as 'minor', but declined to specify the amount.
A possession charge in New South Wales carries a potential maximum penalty of two years in prison and a A$2,200 fine.
A drug conviction could also derail Todd's plan to relocate to Los Angeles to pursue a Hollywood career.
The actor announced before his arrest that he was leaving the drama in which his character first appeared in 2005.
Last year, he was honoured by the Australian television industry with a Silver Logie award for Most Popular Actor.
