It's Ringo v Romeo in Bachelor of the Year contest

Neighbours star Sam Clark is up against Home And Away's Luke Mitchell for the title of Cleo Bachelor Of The Year.

Sam, who plays Ramsay Street's Ringo Brown, and Luke (Summer Bay's Romeo Smith) are among the 50 finalists in the annual Australian competition, which was won last year by Home And Away's Axle Whitehead (Liam Murphy).

Cleo editor Sarah Oakes said the competition has moved away from the host of sporty men who dominated the shortlist.

She said: "Whether it is the success of the Masterchef Australia or that, as women, we have evolved to look past brawn and sporting talent, I am pleased to announce the finalist list for 2010 Cleo Bachelor Of The Year is top heavy with lovely sensitive, creative types."
