Nicola Charles: I'd love a Neighbours return

Former Neighbours star Nicola Charles has said she'd love to make a return to Ramsay Street - bringing Karl Kennedy's love child.

The actress played doctor's secretary Sarah in the soap from 1996 to 1999, ultimately destroying his marriage to Susan when they had a steamy fling.

And she told Inside Soap magazine she would love the chance to go back "I've always felt that the loose ends between Karl and Sarah weren't tied up," she admitted. "I'd love her to return with a son who turns out to be Karl's!"

Nicola left Neighbours in 1999 after three years as Sarah, returning for a brief guest appearance in 2005 - and said that she had the best time of her life working on the show.

She admitted that her move to Hollywood with her then husband Jason Barry did not turn out as she intended - but the actress now back in Australia, engaged to DJ Mark Tabberner and a happy mother-of-two.

"Sometimes, when you're having your best years you don't realise it," she said. "I left the show to return to the UK, get married, record an album and continue my career, but not everything went to plan."
