Debbie McGee shares backstage snap before her performance with the Italian professional dancer

Strictly Come Dancing duo Debbie McGee and Giovanni Pernice enjoyed one last dance together on the West End stage last night.

The Strictly finalists performed a Salsa routine together after Giovanni’s show, Born to Win, at London’s Lyric Theatre.

Debbie, 59, declared she had “a ball” and shared a backstage snap, saying: “The calm before the storm”.

Before the performance, Debbie spoke on BBC Radio Berkshire about Giovanni’s show, which is about his first year on Strictly – which was three years ago: “The piece in the show about his audition is hysterical.”

She added: “So he dances my Salsa every night on tour with another girl which we’ve had lots of jokes about.

“I’ve been messaging him saying, ‘I hope you’re not enjoying dancing with your new partner too much! I won’t tell you what he replied!.”

Before their final dance, Giovanni, 27, shared a snap on Instagram, saying: “And finally tomorrow night we dance one more time to together… can’t wait.”

Giovanni had previously said that working with Debbie had been “one of the most beautiful experiences of my life”.

The professional dancer paid tribute to his Strictly partner after the programme’s live tour ended.

He tweeted: “Ends today, after almost 5 months, one of the most beautiful experiences of my life.
“@thedebbiemcgee you have been a joy to work with! Laugh and joke every day this is what I will miss most of all. But I’m not worried because we see each other very soon. Until next time D.E.B.B.i.E.”
