So, after two weeks of competition, at the end of which the judges’ scores were added to the public’s votes, it was Mrs Brown’s Boys star Jennifer Gibney and MasterChef judge Gregg Wallace who found themselves in the first dance-off of the contest.
So what went wrong with Jennifer’s waltz with Tristan McManus?
“There was a blunder and it all went to pot,” said Craig Revel Horwood.
“I’m going to take the chance to put right what went wrong the first time,” Jennifer said.
And she did.
“I’m not that surprised,” said Gregg, about being in the dance-off.
Well, head judge Len Goodman had told him after his Charleston with Aliona Vilani: “You dance like I cook: chuck it all in and hope for the best!”
After the dance-off, the worst happened, though and the judges’ unanimous vote sent Craig out of the contest.
Next for the 14 remaining contestants on Strictly Come Dancing, the theme will be “movie nights”: BBC1, Saturday, October 11, 6.30pm.
