Week Four’s Strictly Come Dancing saw Naga Munchetty and Anastacia in the dance-off and Naga lost
Ironically, head judge Len Goodman had told Naga on Saturday night “this is the first time I’ve seen you confident”, after she danced a Charleston with Pasha Kovalev and scored 24 points.
Their routine was performed to Minnie the Mermaid by Firehouse Five Plus Two and Len felt there was “plenty of motion in the ocean”.
“Your timing was off, sadly,” Craig told Naga. “It was very messy.”
“I think you got so excited that it went a bit wrong,” added Darcey.
“Yes, you lost timing in the middle but it was great fun,” Bruno said.
After that, the last thing Naga would have wanted was to do it all again. But she had to.
Naga faced Anastacia, who found herself in her second dance-off of the competition.
Anastacia and Brendan Cole had danced a rumba on Saturday to The Way We Were that scored 27 points, which put them above Naga on the leaderboard.
“It wasn’t great, but it was very, very good,” Len told Anastacia on Saturday night.
“It was tasteful,” added Bruno.
And, after Anastacia performed in the dance-off, the judges were unanimous:
“The couple who I thought danced actually the best in this dance-off this evening was Anastacia and Brendan,” said Craig.
“It’s always incredibly difficult when it gets to this but the couple I would like to save because of their performance value and natural artistry is Anastacia and Brendan,” said Darcey.
“Well I would go for the couple that delivered a much cleaner, slicker and more rounded performance, very convincing tonight, Anastacia and Brendan,” added Bruno.
Len said he agreed with his colleagues and that he would have also saved Anastacia and Brendan.
