Peter Andre has reportedly turned down the chance to compete in this year’s Strictly Come Dancing.

The singer and former boxing champ Lennox Lewis were apparently asked if they would take part in the BBC celebrity dance competition, but have declined the offer, according to The Sun.

Peter has already booked an arena tour to promote his album Revelation, and can’t find the time to rehearse.

The newspaper reported that he told producers to phone back next year when he has got more time.

Former undisputed world heavyweight champion Lennox was allegedly targeted by bosses, following the popularity of boxer Joe Calzaghe last year, but he is said to have dismissed the offer.

The Duchess of York and rugby star Will Carling are also said to have turned down the chance to appear on the show this year.

The Sun claims the show’s celebrity shortlist is now a string of soap stars, including three former EastEnders stars – Tiana Benjamin, who played Chelsea Fox in the BBC One soap, Rob Kazinsky (Sean Slater) and Charlie Clements (Bradley Branning).

Hollyoaks beauty Carley Stenson (Steph Cunningham) is also apparently on the list of those being considered.

Her former co-star and on-off boyfriend Ricky Whittle was last year’s runner-up.
