The semi-final of Strictly Come Dancing beat The X Factor final in the ratings on Saturday night, in the latest triumph for the dance show.
A peak audience of 12.3m watched Harry Judd, Chelsee Healey, Jason Donovan, Holly Valance and Alex Jones make their bid to reach next weekend’s final at the Blackpool Tower Ballroom, while 11.8m tuned in to the first part of The X Factor final, which saw Amelia Lily leave the competition.
And the show attracted an average of 10.6m viewers, while an average of 11m tuned in to Strictly.
The dance show also had a higher audience share, peaking at 47.5 per cent at 7.50pm, while X Factor’s highest audience share was 45 per cent of viewers at around 8.30pm.
“We are delighted that so many millions of viewers tuned in to watch our couples dance for a place in next week’s grand final, making us once again the most watched show of the evening,” a BBC spokesman said.
Sunday’s results show saw Harry Judd, Chelsee Healey and Jason Donovan make it throught to next weekend’s final, while Holly Valance and Alex Jones were voted out of the competition.
