Jessie J is set to make her movie debut in the forthcoming film based on the life of Britain’s Got Talent’s first winner Paul Potts.
According to the Mirror The Voice judge will appear alongside James Corden, Julie Walters and Mackenzie Crook in One Chance, which is due to begin filming next month.
The film will star Corden as Potts, and tell the story of how he took up singing after being bullied at school, and subsequently went from Carphone Warehouse salesman to TV talent show champion.
Jessie will play the girlfriend of Mackenzie Crook’s character, who is Potts’ best friend.
“Even though Jessie’s primarily a singer, she has a real talent for acting, too,” a source told the paper.
“Producers know she works great on camera from being on The Voice. The script looks set to be hilarious, too – it’s really cleverly written and has a typically British sense of humour to it.”
It is not the first time Jessie has turned her hand to acting, having attended the Brit School, which specialises in performing arts, and appearing in the West End production of Whistle Down The Wind when she was younger.
Simon Cowell is also rumoured to be making an appearance in the movie, which will be released next year.
