The quarter finals of The Voice… it was emotional.
“I’m holding back the tears,” said Emily Adams, when she failed to win a place in the semis and had to leave Team Ricky.
But Emily was just about the only one who did hold back the tears.
Superstar singer Adele‘s cousin Georgia Harrup couldn’t hide her heartbreak and failing to get past the quarter-finals. Tears streamed down her face as her mentor Tom Jones tried to comfort her.
Will.i.am had described Georgia’s performance as “the best number of the show so far”, but even he admitted Georgia had a very nervous start. So, she was good – but not good enough.
Iesher Haughton and Rachael O’Connor also wept as they made their exit.
But this is a contest and, before the show was over, mentors Kylie Minogue, Ricky Wilson, will.i.am and Tom Jones were talking about the semi-finals.
And the talk is that the mentors will be singing with their remaining contestants in the semis.
Tom singing Sex Bomb? Kylie singing Locomotion? Could be…
The line-up is definite, though.
Team Will: Jermain Jackman and Sophie May
Team Kylie: Lee Glasson and Jamie Johnson
Team Tom: Sally Barker and Bizzi Dixon
Team Ricky: Christina Marie and Chris Royal
