The X Factor finalist Amelia Lily has thanked Kelly Rowland for her support as a mentor, saying that she made her dreams “come true”.

Speaking on The Xtra Factor shortly after she finished third in Saturday’s final, the 17-year-old praised Kelly for her support, and also enthused about the duet they had performed together during the final at Wembley Arena.

“My favourite performance tonight was performing with Kelly. It was the best moment of my life and this lady is the person who made all my dreams come true,” she said.

“I can’t thank her enough! Going back to my first audition, she believed in the me then. She put me through to the live shows, she welcomed me back and she bought me some really cool shoes as well.”

Kelly, meanwhile, heaped praised on Amelia, tipping the teenager to have a “bright future”.

“This young lady is so gracious and she is so incredibly talented and she perseveres through it all,” Kelly said. “I don’t deserve any credit, if anything the public has been so wonderful to her and supported her every step of the way.”

“Trust me, this will not be the last time you see Amelia Lily,” she added, “she is going to continue to record and shock people. Remember she is only 17 and her voice is her big, bright future. I’m really excited for her.”
