Cheryl Cole could be forced to miss the next X Factor audition after collapsing at a photoshoot on Saturday.
The pale star, 27, was diagnosed with severe exhaustion by a doctor who rushed to the North London studio and was ordered to have complete rest. Tests later showed Cheryl was also suffering from a stomach bug.
Cheryl’s manager has told X Factor bosses that she will be absent from filming until further notice.
Cheryl is said to have been working flat-out since splitting with her footballer husband Ashley Cole.
Arriving at the studio looking ‘washed out’ and ‘gaunt’, Cheryl refused to postpone the shoot despite having a high temperature and nausea.
A pal told The Sun: “She should never have gone to the studio. She insisted she was fine, even though she clearly wasn’t.
“She told the photographer she’d be all right if she got her make-up on. But once she was under the lights it was clear she wasn’t well.
“Eventually she just keeled over. She was only out for a few seconds, but it was enough to give everyone, including Cheryl, a massive scare.”
Last month, Cheryl enjoyed a few days in Tanzania, Africa, with her dancer friend Derek Hough.
But since returning to the UK she hasn’t had a single day off and is believed to have ignored warnings over working 18-hour days to deal with her divorce from Ashley.
The friend added: “There’s only so long someone can do 18 hours every day without burning out. She has worked relentlessly for the past 18 months. Something had to give.”
In other X Factor news, Jedward star Edward Grimes was rushed to hospital on Sunday after falling on stage at T4 on the Beach.
The Irish duo were performing at the event in Weston-Super-Mare when Edward twisted his leg and fell to the ground.
Edward was carried into an ambulance on a stretcher with a suspected broken leg.
