Cheryl Cole has apparently upset her Girls Aloud bandmates by ruining their chances of starring in another TV show.

Nadine Coyle, Sarah Harding, Kimberley Walsh, Nicola Roberts and Cheryl – who all appeared in ITV2 show The Passions Of… Girls Aloud – were reportedly set to take part in another ITV2 reality show as a band.

But now that Cheryl has signed up as an X Factor judge the new show can’t go ahead, according to Star magazine.

A source reportedly said: “To say the atmosphere is frosty between the girls would be an understatement. They are all incredibly put out by Cheryl’s recent appointment.”

The insider added: “They haven’t actually signed on the dotted line to do the ITV2 show later this year, but it was practically a done deal.

“It relied on all five girls to take part. There were two big interviews with two girls doing each, and the fifth girl as a roving reporter. They were all really keen to get into television and are gutted that the plug has been pulled on it.

“They feel that Cheryl is just looking after her own interests.”

But a spokesman for the band apparently said: “The time that Cheryl is on The X Factor is the girls’ downtime. They did a couple of gigs together last week. Everything is going really well.”
