Another X Factor double exit saw two of Cheryl’s acts leave the contest: Stephanie Nala and Chloe Jasmine.

And Stevi Ritchie still in it.

“Not even the dancers made you look good,” Mel B told Stevi.

“I shouldn’t like you but I do,” Simon Cowell told him – and he’s his mentor! “More important, the public really, really like you.” Or maybe they just like a laugh…

The public definitely didn’t vote for Stephanie, who got the fewest votes and was the first to leave.

“This is just the start for Steph,” insisted her mentor, Cheryl.

Chloe Jasmine faced Louis Walsh‘s Stereo Kicks in the sing-off.

Simon had predicted Chloe would be “in trouble” after she sang Irene Cara’s “Fame” in the Saturday-night show.

“Cheryl hasn’t done you any favours with that song choice,” Simon told Chloe. And he was proved right.

In the sing-off, Chloe sang Carole King’s “Will You Love Me Tomorrow?” – and nodded in agreement when Simon told her, “You didn’t sing that great”.

Stereo Kicks sang The Pretenders’ “I’ll Stand By You” – and three of the four judges stood by them.

“Can I be the ninth member of Stereo Kicks,” Chloe asked, laughing. Then she thanked Cheryl for “taking a chance on me”.

“I’m gutted that we’ve lost an amazing character,” Cheryl said.

The X Factor continues on ITV, Saturday, October 25, 8.00pm, with the theme “Saturday Night at the Movies”.
