Leon Jackson has revealed he will be supporting X Factor finalist Austin Drage – who he met at last year’s auditions for the ITV1 talent show.

Leon, who was crowned the winner of last year’s X Factor, revealed that the pair became friends at the boot camp stage of the competition.

He said: “One of my mates is in it from last year’s boot camp, Austin, so I’ll be rooting for him.”

And it seems Leon has other favourites too. “Laura White brings something new to the table,” he said. “I also like Diana – she’s different and fresh – and Alexandra, she’s phenomenal.”

Leon will be performing his new single, Don’t Call This Love, on The X Factor’s first live show on Saturday – and admits to being a little nervous.

He admitted: “I’m looking forward to being on the stage as a guest. But there is a lot of pressure on me this time round because I have been away.”

But he did have some advice for those performing on the show for the very first time, urging this year’s hopefuls: “Have as much fun as you can and don’t be afraid to wear your heart on your sleeve.”

Don’t Call This Love is out on Monday October 13, with Leon’s debut album, Right Now, following on Monday October 20.
