Misha B has missed out on a place in The X Factor final after becoming the latest act to leave the series following the public vote.

The Mancunian teenager had previously survived three sing-offs after being saved by the judges – but her luck finally ran out after the result of the semi-final was decided entirely by the public.

Her departure means that Little Mix, Marcus Collins and Amelia Lily will compete in next Saturday’s final to be crowned series champion and win that coveted record contract.

However Misha appeared resigned to her fate – and afterwards thanked her fans and her mentor, Kelly Rowland, whom she called “the best mentor in the world”.

“Thank you to everyone here at the X Factor for making my dreams a reality,” she said, “and everybody who supported me back home through thick and thin.”

She received a standing ovation from the judges as she then sang on The X Factor stage once more before departing.

Misha B had received good reviews for her performances on Saturday night’s show, singing the Motown classic Dancing In The Street in the first half and Pink’s F**kin’ Perfect in the second.

However Gary had expressed concerns over her ability to win the competition.

“You’ve been wrongfully accused of being someone you’re not,” he said, in what appeared to be a reference to the accusations of backstage bullying the 19-year-old had faced earlier in the series.

“Even if you are lucky enought to get through, I don’t think you can win because of that and that’s a shame.”

The result means that Kelly, Gary Barlow and Tulisa each have one act competing in the final next Saturday, with Louis Walsh the only judge not to be represented after all of his over 25s were voted off earlier in the series.

Current favourites to win are Little Mix – who are the first all-girl band ever to make the final of the show, and would become the first group ever to win if they do triumph.

Sunday night’s results show also featured a performance from Justin Bieber, while Kelly Rowland also took to the stage to perform her current single Down For Whatever.
