The X Factor has denied reports that Victoria Beckham will be joining the show as a judge.

A spokesperson for the ITV1 talent show told The Sun newspaper that there was ‘no truth’ in the rumours that Posh Spice was in advanced talks with Simon Cowell to replace Dannii Minogue on the panel for the next series.

The Daily Mail had claimed that Simon had approached Victoria in the past to appear on the show and that she had been made an offer of more than £1 million a series.

A friend said: “She doesn’t want to come back to Europe with her tail between her legs. But if she can return here to be on The X Factor, then that is different.”

It was reported that Victoria would accept the offer if husband David makes a permanent transfer from LA Galaxy to AC Milan, where he is currently on loan.

Publicist Max Clifford said: “Simon speaks very highly of Victoria. I know he likes her a lot. This deal has not been mentioned to me.”

It has been widely reported that Dannii faces the chop if bosses can find a suitable replacement.

Lilly Allen and Charlotte Church have also been touted as possible replacements.
